Tessellae Côtes Catalanes Vieilles Vignes Carignan

Dark, with some wet autumn leaves, plums, bitter dark chocolate. Good body and reasonable acidity.

Right out of the bottle there is an indistinguishable ripe fruit, perhaps ripe cherry. Lovely and smooth, with more ripe fruits. Pretty well balanced with long finish.

Rich and fruity. Smooth. Very yummy!

2015. Was really pleasantly surprised how much this evolved over a few hours. Was muted early then got spicier, fuller, more interesting.

Earth..plums..dark chocolate! Nice wine but I would have preferred this wine a bit younger!! No complaints considering the $$..clearance price!

I’m new to Carignan so wasn’t sure what to expect. This wine is very drinkable, though a bit acidic for my tastes. I wish it was a bit brighter. Not a bad wine, just maybe not the right wine for me!

Red berries and subtle sea breeze on the nose, medium bodied cherries on the palate with lively acidity. Easy to drink and a great value.

Typical Carignan - rocky, flinty, brambly & funky with meaty wild notes and a touch of eucalyptus in the finish. Deep underneath that you’ll find some blackberry. Vibrant acidity and tobacco tannins. Lacks a bit purity and is quite lean on the midpalate, but works nicely with mature cheese.

Perfumed, perfect weight, great mouthfeel w a soft but solid tannic finish. Top notch

Fresh, almost raspberry, fruit forward, very enjoyable.
