Dec 2nd, 2017A real treat. Wonderfully complex and intense nose which went through a few phases. Nose was driven by truffle, earth, flowers, spice, and a touch of fruit. The palate was dynamic and smooth with a balanced and soft structure. The palate lacked the complexity of the nose but was surly showing its pedigree. Inaugural Monfortino. Definitely everything I was hoping for....This was spectacular! It was nice right from the pour. It was very good after an hour. Cherry, licorice and grippy tannins abundantly evident. It really opened in second hour into something phenomenal. It became soooo silky smooth and balanced but still punchy with the fruit and long on the finish with amazing mouthfeel. By hours 3 and 4 it just continued to evolve and improve. Absolutely a gem!

Mar 6th, 2021This magnum Barolo is complex and have noticeable development. Other than flavor of cranberry, red cherry, there are huge amount of mushroom and forest floor. Nonetheless the wine is still fruit. Fulll body, high acidity. Long finish.
