While (to my palate) not really varietal correct and certainly not my preferred style of Napa Cab this is however a solid and flawless wine that will have plenty of fans.

Buy one get a glass free at Vintages. Purplish ruby red. Rich nose with lots of licorice, vanilla, blueberries, cinnamon, touch of smoke and a bit of gravel. Medium plus tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Rich and plush palate with layers of blueberries, black fruits, dark cocoa, and cinnamon. Long finish. Drink till 2032.

Blackberry juice w wood. My wood. Took the county negotiator only 45 minutes to get me this wine. It literally saved lives that day. This wine is a hero. So is the county negotiator.

Final night of the cruise.....night ten coming to a close so we decided to go with another Special Selection.

Deep and dark purplish ruby red, completely coats the glass. Plump and rich aromas on the nose with blueberries, vanilla, cinnamon, blackberries and even some purple flowers. Rounded and integrated heavy tannins (7/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Love the blue and black fruits on the palate of this wine. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2032.

The cruise continues! Night eight aboard the Allure of the Seas and 50% off all wines. Opus was way too young so we grabbed this.

Deep purplish ruby red. Layered nose with notes of blue and black berries, cinnamon, vanilla, silky spices and cola. Love the explosion that just hammered my senses. Heavy and rounded tannins (7/10) with a medium plus to full body. Rich and voluptuous, literally fruit bomb with blue and black fruits and an undertone of silky dark spices. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2032.

One the nose, ruby, ripe wild dark berries, black plum, black tea, dark, rich, moist, soil, baking spices, dark chocolate and fresh & dry dark florals. The mouthfeel is big and lush (Parker wine). The tannins are round and beautiful. Wild blackberries, black plum, plum, dark liqueured cherries, black raspberries, dark chocolate, mocha powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, dark rich black soils, stones, soft leather, dry stems, crushed dry rocks and a touch of black licorice. Finishes nice young. Big lush fruits, 50-50 fruit and earth. Acidity is nice and round. Nice wine for those that love big fruity wines. But personally, I miss the pre 2012 style of Caymus wines. Photo tour of the Special Selection vineyard, private tasting room, the front entrance and of course...Owner/Winemaker Chuck Wagner.
