The Upper Terrace Pinot Noir

2007. Open for business. Bing cherries and dirt. Funk yes this wine is yum!

Some funk at first. Blew off quickly. Opened to aromatics of sour cherries, anise, vanilla, lavender. Love the acid component from a wonderful cool vintage.

This is my favorite cuvee from BF

Lovely bouquet, dark cherry, smoke/vanilla/cola/floral thang goin on. Tastebuds sayin similar accompanied by a side of light tannin. Ymmy.

Strawberry, fresh, soft, raspberry

Drank 11/27/2022 with a delayed Thanksgiving dinner. It is a wonderfully balanced example of an aged pinot noir, almost French character. It paired perfectly with the meal. Still, you can probably find a better value of similar quality.

Amazingly smooth texture with an earthy, cherry blast, and just a hint of oak. Dare I say, Dr. Pepper?

The essential character of BF is in its clarity, lightness....ethereal. This 2007 starts with a bit of smoke, stoneyness, and bright fruit of red berries. On the tongue the fruit speaks clearly of cherries. Then there is strawberry, spice, and very light tannins. The finish is long. I believe the fruit is slightly bigger than more recent vintages. Recalling that 2007 was a difficult year, makes this wine quite an achievement.
