Started off pretty one dimensional and gloppy for the first two hours or so. I was beginning to expect little else. But then things changed. Airtime really did wonders. More personality, aromatics, and nuance. Glad I have more to sit on! Good stuff TRB. — 5 years ago
The bouquet on this is outstanding. Blue/black fruits, a hint of smoked meat, lavender, mint and spice. Slight flick of heat. Black cherry, brine, licorice, cedar on the palate. Linear acidity and smooth tannin. Good finish too. F’n solid! Perfect for V-Day steaks. — 5 years ago
Absolutely perfect pairing with tonight’s Xmas Eve tenderloins. Just the right balance of brambly dark red/blue fruit, spice cabinet, pepper/licorice, a soft tannic frame, and a linear acidity. Add it up with a bouquet of dark red fruit, crushed mint, mocha, and a floral/violet thing goin on. Happy Holidays! — 4 years ago
The evolution of this bottle over two plus hours in decant is remarkable. Aromatic. Full bodied, dark red/black fruit, white pepper, black licorice. Excellent! — 5 years ago
Wow. This guy shed its youthfulness within the hour after it went into the decanter. Evolved several times over the next two into a real treat. Dark fruit, cedar, leather, lavender. Scent geek stuff. Silky tannic grip emerged to frame dark fruit, tobacco/mint, a l’il spice box. This producer delivers every time for me. Quickly becoming my go to Bordeaux house. Awesome again. — 5 years ago
Glorious with a New York steak cooked to perfection tonight. Big, bold, silky, balanced. 2hr decant set the stage. What a great way to celebrate today! — 4 years ago
A 2+ hour decant seems about right. Plush dark fruit, violet, cedar, tannins have softened since the last time I tried this one. Plenty of sediment left in the decanter. This is destined to party even more in a year. Awesome. — 4 years ago
Enjoyed this tonight. Medium plus weight with dark red/black fruit and a peppery/licorice accent. Savory and fruity with a still present tannic lift carrying its lengthy finish. Solid! — 5 years ago
Wow. This is still very youthful by most standards. Berry pie, mild oak, floral, herbal note. Silky smooth tannin leads the way to rich dark fruit and spice/cracked pepper. Good lengthy finish too. Still bright and brooding at 10 years old. Better than anticipated. — 5 years ago

Too young, yes, but good times with my lovely wife let this open up big time. Rich aromatics, evolved over conversation. Cedar, pie spice, dark fruits, floral. Started out smooth and silky before the tannins really kicked in. This is gonna be killer with more time. Paired awesome with tonight’s beef tartare, bolognese, and pork shank osso bucco. — 3 years ago
