Old school Willamette Pinot that doesn’t try too hard and is better for it. Mixed berry pie on the nose which is comforting and inviting. Beautifully balanced palate, ripe raspberries with a hint of both sweet spice and forest floor, no element too showy, and a velvety smooth medium-long finish.

Bright red cherry and cherry cola. A little forest floor, mostly just clean and easy.

Sipping Fine Wine

My fav bartender had a ‘15 laying around and gave me a taste. Sat in French oak for 9 months, red fruit & spice aromas. On the palate cherry & strawberry flavors, tea and cinnamon spice. Fine tannins, medium+ ending with herbal earthy tones. Consistent with ‘16 I previously tasted. Nice bar wine offering. Tasting Sample.

Got a taste from my fav bartender. Located in the heart of Willamette Valley in the Dundee Hills AVA, Bill & Cathy Stoller purchased the 400 acre property in 1993 but took them to 2001 to craft 1st Pinot Noir. Sat i French oak for 9 months, red fruit & spice aromas. On the palate cherry & cranberry flavors, cola and cinnamon spice. Fine tannins, medium+ ending with herbal earthy tones. Nice bar wine offering. Tasting a Sample.

The weekend has arrived and I have opened the 2018 Stoller Family Estate Pinot Noir. This wine is from the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley in Oregon.

The nose has notes of cherry, strawberry, cranberries, rose petals, mushrooms and earth.

On the palate there is beautiful red fruit, cherry, cranberry, strawberry, spice, cola, vanilla, mushroom, a touch of oak and good earthiness.

This wine is medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel, medium acidity and medium fine sandpaper tannins that seamlessly moves into a long red fruit and light earyh finsh. I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend and please stay safe and continued health. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Bright ruby-red. Fresh, spice-accented red berries, cherry and a floral nuance on the nose. Silky and open-knit, offering lively raspberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that turn sweeter through the midpalate. Lingers with very good tenacity on the subtly tannic finish, which echoes the red fruit and floral notes. This is quite a graceful wine for the vintage. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, August 2020)
