Star bright straw gold. Shy nose and medium palate of satsuma rind, green apple peel, and white peach pit. Medium acidity is lower than some modern Sancerres, but definitely not “flabby.” Just a slight hint of flint (terres blanches soil?) on the dark, anise-esque finish. This is a softer style of Sancerre that’s representative of the reportedly fleshy 2020 vintage. An excellent pair for hearty “white wine” meats like poultry (turkey burgers were my choice) or pork. Go elsewhere with your fish and greens. Drink now.

Confected, flabby, and lacking in acidity and that classic Sancerre minerality and grassy loveliness. 2015 wasn't kind to this wine.

$35? At Total Wine. Not my favorite Sancerre. A little yellow/buttery for me.

Le Silex 2019. Pleasant and minerally but not very complex.

A bit heavy, not quite flabby but not as light on its feet as I’d hoped for. Straightforward lemon, not enough acid bite or mineral depth. Paired it with pan seared salmon and it wasn’t the right move. Doesn’t have the zip to contrast the richness of the salmon, and not quite interesting enough on its own to stand out. Hopes for more.

A snoozer of a Sancerre but I've cooked with worse

Lemon and mineral, maybe slightly less acidic than usual for Sancerre.

A textbook, typical, if uncomplicated, Sancerre. Nice herbal, stony nose, citrus fruits with decent concentration and acidity on the palate.
