The 2016 Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos has retained the somewhat adhesive bouquet that slightly obscures the fruit. It makes this Tokaji seem a little "distant". The palate is well-balanced and pretty, with marmalade and apricot notes. It's not dense, though it displays fine tension on the finish. Fine. (Neal Martin, Vinous, April 2024)

Light orange in color.
Sweet nose of oranges, tangerines, lemons, citrus, tropical fruits, peaches, bananas, white flowers, bitter herbs, vegetables, pineapples and white pepper.
Full bodied, bold and buttery, with high acidity.
Sweet on the palate with citrus, lemons, honey, tangerines, white pepper, minerals, spices, herbs, melons and pineapples.
Long sweet finish with lemons.
This is a great dessert wine. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing nice complexity already, and will be even more complex in years to come. Sweet with enough acidity to balance it out. Better when nicely chilled.
It's drinking very nicely now and could be aged for even longer.
I paired it with a bread pudding cake.
