Quintessential Beaune. Quite young, but already showing some soft edges. Cherry notes combine with cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg. This is not for the long haul, but is presenting well right now. Finishes dry, so in my mind, this requires food - Nougatine at Jean Georges.

Can't recall a Beaune 1er Cru that ever surpassed this beauty.

Blackberry, wood smoke and mulberry. Ripe, well-integrated tannins. Soft and tangy acid and creamy texture. Nice effort from David des Croix. 2nd vintage, if not mistaken.

V. nice. Less rusticity than I expected in a Beaune red.

Really drinkable on its own and went well with lots of different food flavors. Grwat value at le dip since $85-$100 retail and just $148 at le dip
