This is fantastic. Light and precise and pretty at first. Some hints of hold but a gorgeously lifted subtle palate. A whiff of mint, stone, oyster shells and a hint of warm lemon notes. Beautifully balanced and precise- makes you lean in to feel it

Tasted blind. Medium gold color. Looks young in the glass next to the 99 Chave. Quiet and tight nose. Strikes me as something from the 05 vintage - fruit forward, but lacking complexity. Not much acidity at first, but opens up with more air. I go with an 05 Leflaive Pucelles guess. For an 04 I was surprised how round and fat this was, not representative of many other 04s that have razor sharp acidity. This was more Chevalier like than anything.

Argh: this isn’t completely ruined but there’s enough premox to take away all the things that make this a showstopper. Actually a lovely balanced wine underneath. It’s the buttered popcorn that kills. So frustrating

Aromatics were not as laser focused as I expected but the palate was lovely, clean and fresh.

My kinda wine. Could drink this for hours. Floral. Crazy acid. Classic perrieres weight. Mineral finish. Complete package.

Tasted blind. Yellow gold, looks older than the 2000 Raveneau. Different nose too, makes us think initially it's not Chardonnay. Notes of pit fruit, quince, stone, creme brûlée and beeswax. Fine grained acidity on the really nice finish. At first we think this is maybe past it's prime and/or slightly oxidative. But with a few hours of air this wine grows bigger and bigger. The acidity becomes powerful. Memorable experience.

Had it May 2011.
Straw yellow, on the nose melon, grapefruit and stones with hints of sulphur. Amazing sip, long and minerally. Great Cru!!
