Excellent follow up to the classic 2016 Vintage. Blend of Mourvèdre (30%), Grenache (30%), Syrah (15%), Counoise (10%) and the balance (15%) made up of other approved CDP varietals led by Vaccarese’. Aromas of red and black fruit, garrigue, leather and earth. Flavors of black raspberries, currants and cherries, Asian spices, smoked meat and truffles. Long and lingering (slightly spicy) finish and beautiful balance. Full bodied and dense, but not overpowering. Fine grained tannins and amazing complexity. Medium garnet color with a ruby core. Aromas of dark cherries, forest floor, anise and crushed stones. Flavors of black cherries, balsamic vinegar, black licorice and dried leafy herbs. Touch of vanilla on the long lasting (dusty) finish. Firm (but nicely softened) tannins. Medium bodied. Great combination of complexity and texture. Beautifully delicate. Interesting skin contact South African Grenache Gris. Beautiful deep copper/amber color with golden highlights. Aromas of citrus and stone fruit, clay, fresh herbs and honey. Flavors of orange, peach, nectarine, raw nuts, grapefruit, savory spices and those fresh herbs. Nice touch of mineral/saline on the long and lingering finish.
