Deep ruby color with a few garnet highlights. Aromas of black and red fruit, smoky wood, leather and warmed baking spices. Flavors of red and black cherries/raspberries, strawberries, mushrooms, cocoa powder and a touch of iron/iodine. Light notes of flint and pleasant oak on the medium-plus finish. Extremely bright acidity and very soft tannins. This wine is quite powerful but it is also quite delicate at the same time. Incredible balance. Beautifully coordinated aromas and flavors of black cherry/currant/raspberry fruit, mushroom, leather, mocha, forest floor, baking spices, brown sugar and wet soil. Lovely oak integration on the long and persistent finish. Velvety tannins and well balanced acidity and alcohol. Soft texture. So fresh and harmonious.
