I met one of the blenders of this wine. Interesting concept, search the wineries where the wine is aging in barrels and select some of the best to blend. 100% Cab Sauv from Atlas Peak, very dark red with aromas of sweet fruit and some gentle baking spice. On the palate rich blackberry and currant flavors with tight spice notes, well integrated. Fine dusty tannins, full body, lingering ending with fruit and mineral tones. Great now. Very nice! β 6 years ago
First Sylvaner I've had, once again the fascist myth of noble varieties vs ignoble varieties (called "blenders") is shown to be bullshit, this wine is complex, dynamic, and singular, sort of like clover honey drizzled over kiwi fruit and green apples. β 10 years ago
We recently visited Brian Carter Cellars. We ended up joining their wine club. This particular wine was a favorite. We have found Brian Carter to be one of the most creative and innovative wine blenders. Highly recommended β 8 years ago

I rarely post beer because I have a separate app for that. However, I will make exceptions for lambic. To my palate, Drie Fonteinen is amongst the last great Lambic breweries and Geuze blenders. I was very fortunate to travel to the brewery last summer and it was like a pilgrimage of sorts. Unfortunately, I never got their while Armand was still alive. That being said, his spirit of very much there. This oude gueze is Blend No. 37 β’ season 18|19 originating from 2016, 2017 and 2018 Lindemans wort. It was poured from a 375mL at just below room temp. A nice little pop from the cork. Light effervescence. Apricots, grapefruit, lemons, horse blanket. Good acid. Long finish. Refreshing. World class. β 2 years ago
