DO Cebreros, which is a new Denominación de Origen in Spain. If I were doing a blind tasting I might think this was a Bourgogne (Burgandy)! Sparkling bright red color, medium clear. Aromatic notes of strawberries and raspberries with smokey vanilla and tobacco undertones. Subtle earthy aromas and flavors of mushroom and slate. The tannins are so elegant, so refined, with a luscious, inviting acidity. Long, finish. This will age and just get better and better. Wow! — 6 years ago

This wine is dark in color. The nose is complex, offering blackberry and blueberry fruit in addition to anise, black pepper, and herbal notes. The palate is savory, with earth, tar, and spice dominating the flavor package. Tannic grip is easy to handle, yet workman enough to do a job on a rib eye steak. The finish is medium long, and the savory aspect lingers. — 2 months ago
