big petrol right out of the gate - greenish shimmering hued, then all kinds of lanolin, herbal & gooseberry - SB notes, also some orchard fruit, but fairly austere overall. Palate was lean angular razor sharp even at this age and we let it warm up too. Bone dry, racy acidity, mouth puckering finish... What a Riesling! Austrian Riesling for the win! The nose is made of pineaple notes, chalk, lemon. This is so inviting and good... The palate is very well designed with a great acid backbone, some lemon peel notes, some chalky notes too. The finish is long and that lemon peel note stays up in the air, lingering for a very long time. This is a great riesling! — 3 years ago
