Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of four days and largely consistent throughout…though maybe leaning towards Day 3-4. The 2012 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart tropical and orchard fruit: pineapple, peach cup, tangerine, petrol, minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. What a banger! AlZINGer does it again. These beg for some time in the cellar but few have the patience. Wow. Drink now through 2032 easy. — 3 days ago
Nice, deeply textured gruner from a producer I always respect. Without bottle agitation, has real palate density with white fruit, tea, a slight bit of funk, and great round acidity. My bottle wasn’t that different post a good shake (as they advise on the bottle). Tasty and a good value. — a month ago
Great wine, rich taste, long aftertaste and good balance. — 3 days ago
An Austrian “signature” grape. Nice structure, pale lemon color, crisp this Gruner Veltliner shows plenty of stone and citrus fruits with green herbs. On the palate flavors of lemon, peach and pepper with slight nuttiness, medium finish with lively acidity and very good balance. Drink now. — a month ago

Any time I open a Riesling or GV from a reputable producer, I wonder why I don’t open them more often.
Great vintage, great Austrian producer.
I really enjoy the differences between Alsatian Rieslings, German Rieslings and Austrian Rieslings, the latter normally being a bit more textural/full-bodied (and higher in ABV at 13%, compared to the typical 8-10% range of the others). Pale yellow in the glass. White peach and a sweet lemon/lemongrass type of aromatic. Ripe stone fruits (more peach but also apricot) and minerals/slate alongside a spine of acidity that isn’t sharp, but balanced. Tasty. — 5 days ago
