Rosso di Todi

An absolute delight of a Sangiovese blend, well balanced, ruby, with red fruit and plums — 2 years ago

Domaine La Consonnière

Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend 2018

Dark opaque ruby red. Dense aroma of red berries cured meat, smoke, and black pepper. Smooth rich flavor that takes up your whole mouth full of red plum, oregano, and steak. It’s followed by a flash of tannins that slowly crescendos. Beautiful by itself but then drank with pan seared del Monaco steaks and then the meat notes really came through. — 3 years ago

Château Canon-la-Gaffelière

Comtes de Neipperg Red Bordeaux Blend 2006

Not cheap but a masterful Bordeaux blend we enjoyed in Monaco. Had this at a heat restaurant with lots of beef. Perfect match. Tannins didn't dominate too much and fruit was all dark cherry and the natural chocolate. — 9 years ago

Ferrari

Trento Brut Chardonnay

Well, I couldn’t celebrate Ferrari’s lack of victory today in Monaco, so I decided to try Italy’s Ferrari sparkling wine. It’s very nice. Aromas of stone fruit and yeast. On the bud, apple, pear, tartness, minerality, and a nice long finish. — 4 years ago

Gold Emotion

24k Brut Chardonnay

Champagne with 24 karat gold. We drank a lot of this in Monaco and didn’t get a headache. Is it the gold that helped?! — 7 years ago

Château Margaux

Premier Grand Cru Classé Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 1979

Provenance is everything. Wonderful bottle with the floral elegant nose you expect from mature Margaux. In company was the wine direct of Alain ducasse in Monaco who said he'd never had as good a bottle of this in France! From a cellar where it never moved for 35 years. Really lovely surprise. — 9 years ago

Château Font du Broc

500 Chevaux is an automobile racing term; French for “500 horsepower.” Nellcôte founder and vintner Tyler Olbres is an avid car-racing fan, and has himself driven in the Monaco Rallye for Classic Cars. This wine is a high-horsepower Cabernet, meant to be sleek, powerful, and fully able to go the distance.
LAST BOTTLE Notes,

Nellcote was an uber-pricey luxury Cab that recently closed its doors, and, after extensive tasting through all the brilliant, incredibly fine-tuned Cabernets early last year, that none other than Phillip Titus (yep, THAT Phillip Titus, the legend behind CHAPPELLET and others!) made,

Domaine Chainier

Clos du Gaimont La Monaco Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2012

Oh my goodness. I am thrilled that I held onto this incredible #vouvray - if you have this #LoireValley gem, I suggest that you drink it now cause it is drinking beautifully! Sweet ripened pear, orange blossom, apple and lime with hints of smoke and a bit of nuttiness. A lush, silky, smooth mouthfeel bursts mid-palate with vibrant acidity that melds into chalky minerality and a lovely, balanced finish. I'm drinking it with this farm to fork rustic creamy angel hair pasta made with a blended sauce of honey chèvre, olive oil, pepper, toasted walnuts, loads of arugula and chives. The rustic-ness of the pasta with the nutty, chalky minerality of the wine is heavenly. — 9 years ago
