We don’t drink a lot of California wines here so when we do, we are looking for something more lush and smooth than what we get from France and Italy. This hits that spot pretty well. It is liquid velvet to me — 7 months ago
Blend of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe red and black fruits with spice and sweet notes. On the palate very jammy blackberry and ripe cherry, has a sweetness probably from a cold soak or extended maceration, notes of cacao and espresso also on the palate. Fine chewy tannins, medium+ finish ending with robust fruit, cacao and spice. Organic! Good value! — 7 months ago

Delectable Wine

The 2012 Maya is fabulous. Deep and explosive, the 2012 remains quite young. Black cherry, chocolate, espresso, licorice and gravel, along with the wine's natural concentration, convey and impression of virile intensity. As good as the 2012 is today, another few years in bottle certainly will not hurt. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2024)
