Yesterday’s Wednesday Wine Committee, hosted by @Jeff Meyer , was so educational with fantastic German & Austrian wines. 1 sparkler, 5 whites, 5 reds, 1 dessert wine. All served blind as usual.
Knowing there was an outlier out of the 5 whites, I called it this one, and it was. I picked up a lot of white pepper both aromatically and on the palate. Low acidity and a herbal medley. Spicy version of Viognier. I called this Grüner. — 22 days ago
Citrus lime sour slight bitter ending. Holy acid Batman! Slight sweetness to it. Smooth and light. — 3 years ago
Slatiness explodes from the glass. Lemon pith and apricot note wonderfully intigrated in the palate. The acidity and rocky ness persists on the finish. #sommcon — a month ago
Apparently he’s crazy in his non-adherence to convention. Good not great. Haven’t had the V-M epiphany yet — 4 months ago
Fair amount of sulfur on the nose. Didn’t seem to blow off... which seemed to diminish the enjoyment of this wine. Perhaps a bit young, as well. Need to try another bottle. — 2 months ago
