2018 vintage. Medium body. Lightest bodied-white or red-I've ever had from SQN. That said, still waay too much to love afoot. Interesting with this wine retaining the SQN style without emphasizing/doubling down on the more overt tendencies that the winery is known for. The exception that proves the rule. A mere baby and there's nothing that another 7-8 years wouldn't improve. 04.09.25. — 8 months ago
Fruity, smooth — 4 years ago
We had the 2019 Vintage on 7/26-27/25. Nice bouquet and palate of black cherry, strawberry and cardomom. Beautiful mouthfeel. New World. Would easily buy more. Classic tastes and aromas of SLH. — 4 months ago

Big props to Girl and the Fig for excellent service including decanting this wine prior to our arrival.
A very extracted deep purple with no signs of Browning.
Relatively tame aromas of deep berry, baking spice, faint black pepper, juniper berry, menthol, red flower. Heady but not overtly alcoholic.
The palate is a different story. Explosive, much more tart, and red fruits. Pomegranate, cranberry, red cherries overlie the gamey, meaty, olive tapenade of Syrah. Dense, chewy, but not heavy or particularly hot. For 15.7% light on its feet. The tannins are never intrusive but provide needed structure along with surprising bright acidity. Finish just goes on and on.
An unforgettable wine that I am glad we got to experience. Not exactly my personal style but really complete and enjoyable. This wine also feels like it’s just hitting its stride. — 4 years ago

2012 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 1.25 hours open. Heavy body. Always too soon/early with these wines, whether white or red. Likely shouldn't be approached or flirted with for another 15 years to properly evaluate. Some chunky bite but mostly über-smooth bark. From what I'm told, they own the copyright for the stunning bottle shape style. 05.30.25. — 6 months ago

2012 vintage. 15.6 ABV but tasted like 14.7. Medium body. Decanted and tasted after 20 minutes and 2 hours. Slight amount of sed but not objectionable if poured into the proceedings. Mostly frontal fruit tasting with raspberry and strawberry flavors coming through predominantly. Relatively unexciting in the early going. Nice...but not exactly this year's girl. Tasting after two hours decanted...body upped to medium/medium-heavy body and a subtle cracked black peppercorn flourish all these promises of satisfaction. As with (nearly) all the wines from this producer, killed off at least a decade too early, likely two. Those disco synthesizers those daily tranquilizers...9.3.25. — 3 months ago
