Very good irish whiskey. — 6 years ago
This is certainly the most interesting Zinfandel I’ve tasted in quite some time, and also one of the best. Montelena sourced Irish oak from a certain distillery for some of the aging. I found this remarkably right bank Bordeaux like with ripe aromas of plums, blueberry pie, cassis, figs, chocolate, spice box and tobacco leaf. Very complex and aristocratic expression. Superb vintage! — 7 years ago

Cask strength - a bit much for me - but an impressive Rye, especially as it tastes much more aged than its two years. Willet is a distillery on the rise, so looking forward to tasting others whiskeys from them in time. — 9 years ago
Last of pappy's recipe that I've got in the house. Time to go hunting... — 9 years ago
124.9 proof but not as hot as it seems. I really think these bottles improve after being opened for a bit. Not sure what I rated this prior but it’s a full mouth feel and punch. It’s on the sweeter side for me with a little bit of wood and a finish that lasts a long time. I get pipe tobacco aromas from the empty ;) glass. Reminds me of those old tobacco tin cans my grandfather had. I think I saved one somewhere just for the memories. Never got into a pipe. — 2 years ago
night cap bliss, first time trying but not the last time.
Distillery notes,
The fabulous flavor of Midleton Distillery's Green Spot Irish whiskey meets the zinfandel casks of California's famous Château Montelena in this limited edition expression. The red wine influence adds a richness and a chewiness of texture to the smooth and unctuous character of the pot-distilled whiskey. Fans of heavier Irish whiskies will be thrilled by the added weight and suppleness. — 6 years ago
This afternoon/evening was our first of two baby showers. Not only were we surrounded by friends & family, but we were also surrounded by some good wine & other drinks. This was one of the selections at our whisk(e)y & cigar bar.

Last time I had this was back at university - was nice to circle back on it so many years later. — 8 years ago
Had grand marnier for the first time Wednesday 👌🏻 and just took a swig of Maker’s Mark straight for the first time. A week of firsts! — 8 years ago
I am so sad it is gone. All time favorite spirit. Absolutely delicious. — 9 years ago
Nice and peaty. Time to get another bottle — 7 years ago
Its been a rough week. First the sleet followed by a flash freeze. Instant skating rink, and now 8 inches of wet heavy snow.
Rated previously, its Irish coffee time.
Wishing everyone a great Valentines day tomorrow. Yes, those flowers are for my lovely wife. — 7 years ago

This was my gateway scotch and it still doesn’t disappoint. A profoundly balanced whiskey that satisfies the Speyside itch every time. — 9 years ago
Easy, round Scotch, comfortably peated. Stays long and strong in mouth and after some time gives an association of salt. — 9 years ago
Brilliant stuff, first time with this one but a real winner, round full flavour with a little fizz in the mouth — 9 years ago

Day 12, 2025 Whisky Advent Calendar calendar. Quite smooth for such a strong cask strength malt. I can see my notes from 2022, and nothing is different this time around. Really nicely balanced, great complexity, delicious. — 7 months ago
