I really nice balance of acidity dryness berries. Some tannins, but just the right amount. Really a lovely easy drinking wine — 4 years ago
An ample dose of (very ripe + very evocative) Anderson Valley fruit & flora: cherry, raspberry, pennyroyal tea, dank forest floor, still vibrant and youthful. This wine is just a bit too hot and heavy (nearly 15% alc) for my tastes. Really exquisite fruit here, but while I like this power and boisterousness in her Petite Sirah, I prefer the volume just a tad lower on my Pinots. Pardon any typos; I am a lightweight and no longer accustomed to these abvs on a Tuesday night!

Ah, the Yorkville Highlands... more than just the fabled place where I totaled my car last fall. Those rocky hillsides produce some sensational juice and this wine is no exception. Inky and hedonistic AF, but pulls it off with elegance, tannic structure and enough vibrancy to elevate this wine far beyond guilty pleasure. And besides, what else would you want with a bacon cheese burger & onion rings?
Blueberry coulis and black pepper fade into violets and warm spice on the finish. Definitely opened this bottle too early but have no regrets. I look forward to seeing how bottle #2 evolves over the next few years. All hail, Theodora, Queen of Petite Sirah!

Theopolis Vineyards Petite Sirah 2018, Mendocino County, California
Dark inky in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose with black currants, black plums, stewed cherries, raisins, dried figs, light cedar, licorice, chocolates, coffee and black pepper.

Dry and fruit forward on the palate with sweet cherries, raspberries, spices, light oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, light earth, light vegetables and black tea.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and raspberries.
This 7-year-old Petite Sirah from Mendocino County is still drinking nicely, but will not last for long. Fruit forward and rich. Elegant and extracted.
Good by itself and good right out of the bottle. Gets earthier as it opens up (30 minutes) with lots of earth and vegetable notes.
Tangy and interesting.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
