Nice and balanced, — 25 days ago
Unabashedly opulent and powerful, this cab leading blend is also quite refined. Perfectly ripen dark fruits scented with toasty oaks, black pepper, and violet. Rich, sophisticated, and layered on the palate with a soft touch. Supple tannins reasserted its authority at the end of long finish.
Yet another very impressive bottling from the Prisoner. — 2 months ago
Carneros 2021 🍷 Christmas gift from Tom & Bette… delish!! — 9 days ago
Smooth, sweet initially with an acidic, tart finish. Quite nice and drinkable. — 10 days ago
Cherry full flavor, absolutely delicious — a month ago
Not bad. Fruit forward, but decent acidity and way less wood than the red blend. Says it’s from central coast. I’d buy it again at a discount. — 2 months ago
Earthy tobacco on the nose, elderberry and fig in the mouth. Candied spice finish. Nice bottle… — 11 days ago
2018 - had on 1/23/25 with baked Rigatoni - very smooth cab. Nice body. — 13 days ago
I don’t normally review wines twice unless I’m tracking age development or comparing vintages…review is what I said in January…Very easy drinking but apparently not memorable. — a month ago

The nose shows black cherry, cassis, sandalwood, baking spices, and just hint of green bell pepper. Ripe and juicy on the palate leaning towards a bit jammy, but there is sufficient acidic lift. Silky tannins. Long candied finishes.
I really like The Prisoner wines, and this is no exception. Have a good 8-10 years ahead. — 12 days ago
