Texas HIgh Plains Grenache Rosé 2013

Handed a glass of this as we walked up to the welcome center. Perfect refreshment on a hot Hill Country weekend! The staff at William Chris are so nice and hospitable. But what do you expect in Texas! The wine is dry with notes of strawberry and a hint of raspberry. Loved it and brought several home to enjoy till we can make another trip back. — 2 months ago

Not overwhelming. Flavor that lingers a little after drinking but still subtle — 3 months ago

Call of the Brave Sangiovese Cabernet Franc 2017

Who says Sonoma is for Pinot and Chardonnay and the Finger Lakes are for Riesling and Texas is for beer? Pioneers experimented and we stuck with what they chose to plant. Could there be anything not to love about a Sangiovese and Cab Franc mix from the Texas High Plains? Why the hell not? This is the next generation - now we plant new grapes in new places.

Call of the Brave is a murky brown whole cluster joy of strawberry laced Sangiovese and tart candied red berries. It’s delicious. Complex, nuanced, easy to drink, and wonderful for the senses.

So juicy, but not flabby. Still has the structure to stand up to the fruit. — 2 months ago

Fill It Up With Joy Texas High Plains Picpoul Blanc 2017

Skin fermented in the Texas high plains. Cider color, very bretty as wines go, right on the edge of being too much, but it’s restrained as it comes to a close. Highly tart. It ends up being very refreshing in spite of, or perhaps because of, all this skin. — 2 months ago
