This vibrant, dark berry and floral-dominated Grenache is a terrific example of the value that Herència Altés consistently delivers. Concentration, flavor intensity and balance make the 2017 extremely flexible with food, but it is also delicious alone thanks to gentle tannins. $13.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, May 2019) — 8 days ago
Fun afternoon at Classic with great company. Glad you could join us Bryan.
Whole cluster goodness! Green Bell Pepper, menthol, new pipe tobacco aromatics. The palate shows spice in the form of peppered strip, spiced plum and underripe blackberries. There is a streak of minerality down the middle. Burgundian like with a touch more fruit. Wonderful expression. Thanks for bringing @Bryan Kesting . — 11 days ago
First Croatian wine. Saw this and even at $37 had to try. Well worse the money. Young and needs a decant or a nice grilled steak.
Pnp. Very aromatic right off the bat. Black cherry, Forest floor, mushrooms, and a touch of green pepper. Highly recommend giving this a chance especially if you are a fan of other old world wines. — 11 days ago
Liked it a lot, so I tried another bottle. The Martinelli family has been farming in Sonoma County since 1860. Deep red with aromas of red berry fruit and sweet spices. On the palate ripe cherry and strawberry flavors, not as jammy as my notes indicated on my previous try, with oak and pepper spices and cola tones. Fine tannins with balanced acidity carry this rich wine to a lingering finish. Will age well. Have a few more bottles I’ll keep for a future taste. — 25 days ago
Trevligt! Första gången jag dricker ett schweiziskt vin, sockrigt och fylligt. Köpt i Schweiz. — 9 days ago
Deep, dark, ruby coloration. On the nose, dark cherry, raspberry, cranberry, licorice and sweet tobacco. On the palate, dark cherry, cola, tobacco, nice long finish of sweet tobacco and chocolate. Smooth, velvety mouth feel. Still has formidable tannins. — 4 days ago
This pale Vermentino has a beautiful salinity on the nose. It's not exactly the face full of savory ocean one gets in a Vermentino from Sardegna, but it's enough to make me think it's not a California wine. But it is. On the palate, a barrel of citrus rolls through with minerals aplenty in tow. The acidity is great, so have some shellfish ready when you unscrew the cap. — 13 days ago
