A special wine — 4 years ago
Dry rose with great after taste and a super price point. Definitely a regular summer wine for this girl! — 5 years ago
Superrrrr light for a cab!!
This was a great choice! Lovely medium body and very balanced lighter cab. No crazy tannins but present enough to be interesting!! — 6 years ago
A great vintage and stupidly good with Hedy’s Melted Racklette Confit Potatoes with smoked olive oil. What a pair!!!
If you enjoy this young, over chill and decant one hour. It needs it and it vastly improves.
Hedy is our good friend and is a chef who would earn 1-2 Michelin Stars should she choose to open a restaurant but, wishes not to do. Check out Hedy’s Pop Up Dinner business @plate&bottle on Facebook.

Initially I simply was trying to figure out what hybrid varietal based wine tastes like but after settling into it, I was able to admire it for what it is; a delicious, fresh, juicy acid bound wine that almost could replace some of my go to Tuesday night gluggers. Very excited to taste more. Marquette, Petit Pearl, St. Croix, Sabrevois, Cayuga. — 9 years ago
2019 vintage, enjoyed with lamb and a goats gnocchi
Bought 4 bottles from Yapp. — 3 years ago
Very floral, perfumed, ethereal - a captivating bouquet. The palate is equally delicate, unmistakably Syrah and quite different to what one might expect from the northern Rhône.
The wine struggles to hold up to lamb, so I think would be best suited to hearty vegetable dishes - roasted root veg and mushrooms, perhaps.
Hard to know whether this is just a little young - if some savoury notes develop with age this could transform into a quite brilliant Syrah. — 5 years ago
This is a strong example of the premier cru vs others in the Montrachet world of wine. The true stars make you think....”I can’t waste this wine with it’s amazing blend of pears and oak”. The second tier make you think, “...it’s good, but not as defined and this goes well with cookies”. This is second tier but to their credit, not priced in the first tier. — 6 years ago
Kelly give a it 5 stars. — 7 years ago
Had another bottle. Stéphane Ogier is one of Côte Rôtie’s most well-respected stars & looks for concentration in the vineyards and freshness in the cellars. "Le Temps est Venu, ‘the time has come’ for an adventure farther south, with old-vine Grenache and limestone slopes. A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that comes from the Plan de Dieu and Visan AOCs. Red fruit aromas and pepper spice notes. Sweet raspberry and cherry flavor adding herbs to the mix. Medium length ending with earthy notes. Nice value! — 8 years ago
Wow... very yummy and a surprising texture. Much more smooth and full bodied than I've experienced with a rose. I'm a fan! Yum! — 9 years ago
stars and stripes; bold at 14.5%; pair with pork; drink with good company (2018) — 7 months ago
Always a really nice wine at a great price. — 4 years ago
Celler de Capcanes is a modern cooperative in the province of Tarragona. Founded in 1933. Aromas of hot wet bitumen road with mint, menthol, herbs. After a while in the decanter a ripe red fruited perfume and a touch of tar. No sign of raspberry which one often gets with new world Grenache. A medium to full bodied palate. The following night the palate was a little “blocky” without much nuance. I’m somewhat non-plussed for the price and reputation. 100% Garnacha; one of the 1001 Wines; approximately 3000 bottles made. Imported into Australia by the wonderfully named “The Spanish Acquisition “. Postscript: The name derives from when the vineyards were abandoned and taken over by goats (cabra means goat). — 6 years ago
Very quaffable falling down water — 7 years ago
When winemaker Simon Waghorn created his own brand, he chose the name Astrolabe, which is an ancient instrument of navigation that measures the altitude of the stars. Pale straw with grassy citrus notes and floral scents. On the palate peach, tangy citrus and melon flavors with gentle acidity. Medium+ finish ending with bright mineral character. — 9 years ago

I started to write a note for the 2014 and then, when I was nearly finished, I recalled that I had previously enjoyed this vintage a few years back. I went back to my notes on May 24, 2023 and I gotta say, my notes still nailed it. Liquid stars. Drink now until your last breath. — 11 days ago
