Pretty rye with elegance and s finesse finish. Medium bodied and very floral overall, with a range of blooms from lily to rose to orchid to violet and cherry blossom. Very lean and racy, with a dancer’s spirit, flowing effortlessly for a rye of this age. Lacks the signature spice expected, but has a fine tobacco sweetness throughout and a dark raisin streak. — 7 years ago
This tasted more like a rye than a bourbon, stiff alcohol on the front but very pleasant. Needs some ice. — 8 years ago
100% macabeu, spontaneously fermented, aged 1y in concrete w/o any intervention. A crazy, natural wine with nice appley substance, a touch of almond, quite rounded and with a saline acidity towards the (long) finish. Ultra drinkable and works wonders with food. This is brilliant, if crazy, stuff! — 8 years ago

I am so sad it is gone. All time favorite spirit. Absolutely delicious. — 9 years ago
Made from leaves, this unusual Greek spirit smells like carrots. Very smooth and tasty - makes an interesting cocktail. 28% abv / 56 proof. — a year ago

Bought this on a whim. Distilled from Sam Adams experimental 13th hour stout, with added hops and other things. This is surprisingly drinkable, with nice vanilla and wood notes, and actually quite a bit of sweetness probably from the stout distillates. I like it. There are 2 other spirits in this. Now it will go well with a Patriots victory. — 10 years ago
Very enjoyable. Bought in NH. Salem. — 5 years ago
Distillery: Hebei Sanjing
Name: Shilixiang Baijiu
Fun apparent fact - Baijiu is the most consumed spirit in the world. But gosh... How little does the Western society know of this spirit. It's so difficult to find information on these bottles that are not in Mandarin (in English basically).
This distillery has to be king of the Hebei province (right outside Beijing). Signboards and ads are plastered everywhere with this very nicely branded disillery (love the bottle).
That said, this was pretty good. Alcohol on the lower side (40% abv). Sorghum and wheat based. It's on the "sweeter" side, even on the nose. Smells a touch musky, herbal and quite smooth on the mid-palate, finishes sweet and strong, but not necessarily harsh. Still burns unlike the Shandong Baijiu, but heck... It's Baijiu. It should burn. In my mind, this has sort of a richness, but not quite like Maotai's style and density. Still learning, so forgive the botched notes. — 7 years ago
Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery offers a series of Belle Meade Bourbons finished in different used casks. The Cognac finish helps reign in the bourbon’s flavors and choreography, coming to a narrower, cleaner point as it leaves the palate. Its aroma was described to me as “eggnog,” a descriptor I find hard to shake. The spirit does find a beautiful combination of suave, warming flavors – cream, cinnamon, clove – as well as a gentle magnolia blossom florality. — 8 years ago
Color of amber, slightly light. Nose of concentrated aldehyde, baked apple, some cedar wood, and ripe pineapple note. Taste is very smooth, sweet, and nice spice. Flavors of dried fruits fill the mouth. Aftertaste of vanilla, nice dried peach and figs, with some refreshing zest. Some warmth in the throat is the only thing that reminds me of the smoothness actually is coming from a spirit. — 9 years ago
Perfectly balanced sweet/savoury

Hint of the grain, a bit of the spirit up front, decent finish. Nice scotch, even if not super complex. — 5 months ago
