Russell's Reserve 6 Years Old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey

Wow, smooth, honey with light musty note that keeps my nose in the glass. My first experience on the 6-year, won't be my last.

Paired with Lamb Curry, spice was a great compliment to the mellow sweet note of the Rye.

Larkmead Vineyards

LMV Salon Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2009

09' Larkmead LMV Salon. 63% CB 16% CF 5% Malbec & Merlot.

Two hour decanting & it's still a bit tight. So much going on in this wine. Even more so than Russell's EE last night.

Big boy Red ... dark berries, mocha, unlimited layers in this wine. 10/15 great years in it.

2004 through 2010 👍

I've got to purchase some older vintages of Salon/ Solari !!! These wines are like hidden gems. -at Humu Humi, Grand Wailea-Maui

I agree. I have several of the solari, LMV, and Lark. They are a true bargain. Especially for vintages prior to 2012. Don't tell anyone else.

Bevan Cellars

Ontogeny Oakville Red Wine 2014

While good wine is tasty, Russell's entry level wine is properly delicious. Showing restraint, this wine is never the less huge, layered, and highly satisfying. The fruit and savory/earth elements (spice, leather, peppers, cocoa) are in perfect unison. — 7 years ago

Russell's Reserve

13 Years Old Barrel Proof Bourbon

COLOR: Dark amber AROMA: Sweet and woody with notes of dark dried fruit like cherry or plum and confectionary notes of honey, chocolate, caramel, nougat and brown sugar throughout.
TASTE: Sweet and warming. Dried dark fruit notes complete with charred confectionary notes of charred marshmallow or burnt brown sugar. Smoky campfire notes enhance the finish on the palate. FINISH: Warming, long and lingering, this finish does not give up. Very smooth for such a high ABV. Had at Thatcher and Rye on New Year’s Eve.

Bevan Cellars

Dry Stack Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2016

There was no question what my first Hurricane Harvey wine would be... Russell Bevan's Sauvignon Blanc from the Dry Stack Vineyard in Sonoma's Bennett Valley. A good case could be made for it being the best domestic Sauvignon Blanc, and it's certainly in the top 3 or 4 (among Peter Michael's L’Après-Midi, Arkenstone, and Merry Edwards). The distinctive cloudiness seems like it's become Russell's signature. The 2016 presents a rich and tropical fruit cocktail laced with garden herbs that's accentuated by a round, silky mouthfeel, which also gives extraordinary length to the finish... that's right, it's a Sauvignon Blanc. Not to mention, every once in awhile it gives off a tartness reminiscent of Lemonheads candy. — 7 years ago
