I’m finding more and more appreciation for Martinelli’s Syrahs. This is obviously young, and it only spent about 30mins in the decanter before I poured my first glass. Royal purple in the glass. Wonderful aromatics of savory and herbal spices...charcoal embers with bacon fat, accompanied by currant and underripe blackberries. Lifted acidity on the palate giving the profile of this wine the ability to wear its almost 15% ABV well. Dusty dark fruits alongside bayleaf, and pepper dusted cedar. Hold. — 5 years ago
Yep. Big fruit, tobacco, leather. One of the best Aussie wines I've had. Went really well with short ribs with coffee and chipotle seasoning at The Ranch House in Ojai/Miners Oaks — 9 years ago

Drinking the 2017 in 2021. Nose is rich with blackberry and blueberry. Lighter on the palate, with hints s of blackberry, strawberry and ripe fruit. Light and smooth with very low tannins. Oaks and a light earthy finish. Very nice wine. Wish I had a few bottles to set aside for about five years. — 3 years ago
