Wiens Family Cellars, Riverside County, 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon-Primitivo. Good leg and length, notes of dark cherry, black pepper and tannin. — 3 years ago
Vineyard adjacent to its more famous Chateau neighbor, down the riverside on an island. Second tasting for me. Ruby red, moderate pigment extraction. Tight on initial pour, some suggestion of red fruit, mostly currant, round acidity and a mix of seed and skin tannins on the finish. Let it breathe 60 minutes, strawberry flavor emerges. The next day, strawberry, tart cherry and black currant flavors dominate, tannins fully softened with a slight peppery finish from the seed tannins. A well crafted wine with its modest pleasures. — a year ago
Beautiful nose of riverside fruit -
And a touch of coriander.
Heavy bodied with a lively mouthfeel, a hammock of pomegranate juice and mint on the tongue.
With just a bit of velvety citrus, the tannins are so well integrated.

Dinner with Rinny Le Chat Noir in Riverside CA weekend escape $78. “Pinot” — 2 years ago
Really enjoyed this bottle. Tried the 2018 and the 2019 and this one was less fruit and more stone, mineral and soil. Long lasting, very bold tannic finish that I love. (🎥 Casino Royal) — 3 years ago

Versatile, approachable red blend. Somewhat mineral start but mellows as it breathes. Good value wine. — 7 months ago
