We started our afternoon with Owner-Winemaker, Alex Starey touring his vineyard.
Afterwards, we began with his Reserve Chenin which, is produced from 48 year old vines. The nose reveals; soft wet wool, underripe green melon, green apple with no skin, white peach, gooseberries, pineapple, lime, lemon, light herbaceous notes, very understated minerality & soft chalkiness, white spring flowers. The acidity is excellent. The ripe, lightly polish, elegant finish is right in my wheel house.
