One of the most genuinely delightful champagnes I’ve tasted in forever. Such great vim and vigor shown here. A deep, golden color in the glass with pleasant perlage. The nose is immediately charming with an abundance of crisp green apples and roasted nuts. Mild spices with red cherries for days along with the customary bread aromas.
If pure Meunier champagnes have no fans, then I am dead. As expected, Bereche offers one of the finest expressions of the grape. Electric and alive with just the right acidity and intense minerality running throughout. Very expressive with nice depth at this early stage in its life. The palate displays more brioche and apple notes. Almonds, cherries, and a slight touch of lemon zest. One of the most interesting wines I’ve had in a while and utterly delicious. — 3 months ago
Easy to drink, dry and smooth — 10 months ago
No longer a “Vin de Bourgogne”, now a “Produit de France” this is still a great example of a French Chardonnay. Slightly more mineral than a typical Burgundy, light bodied with peach and melon followed by a crisp, clean, and quick finish that then returns with some grass and citrus. — 6 years ago
This shit was DELICIOUS. Drank it with some pasta primavera and then high fived myself. — 6 years ago

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Inky in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose of fresh cherries, plums, currants, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates and black pepper.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, spices, toast, licorice, chocolates, tobacco herbs, earth and light vinaigrette.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very tasty Merlot from Napa Valley. Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and very complex.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.
This 12 year old Single Vineyard Merlot is nicely balanced and still drinking at its peak.
Good by itself or with food.
A blend of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc.
14.6% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

As previous, still an enticing bracing lively lovely white to ring in Year of the Horse at Cindy’s — 4 months ago
Love the smoky notes without it being overwhelming. Great contrast to the cherry-fruity notes from the nerello. — 3 years ago
Dark ripe berries but not overly fruity. Balanced with notes of white pepper and anise. Subtle minerality. Supple texture. Could age nicely. Takes a chill well. — 6 years ago

One of my all time fav jura chardonnays — 7 years ago
Drank at home with roast chicken. Such a good bottle. Sweeter than I normally like but didn’t mind — 7 years ago

Azufre y Fosforo en nariz, mineralidad dominante en paladar, cuerpo medio y paladar prolongado. Acidez dominante y muy expresivo de principio a fin — 4 months ago
Cheapie screw top liter from the dusty place around the corner and … ok! Warm blood standard shet. I can imagine it would go well with harder sharper cheeses actually. I can taste some raisiny tannin. Not bad! 13.99, 70% Syrah, 30% Grenache. Wish I had a mahkluba. — 5 months ago
Full bodied, apples and brioche on the nose and mouth. Good not great — 3 years ago
Chateau de la bonneliere Les Lisons Chinon rive gauche. Plum and fresh tree chipper chips. Some smokiness and green pepper on tasting, lingers nicely and medium body. Some acidity and a little tannins, really I like cab franc. Easy to drink but not thin. — 6 years ago
Pithy. Zesty. Light on its feet. Rhubarb, red currant, sour cherries, dried flowers, blood orange with just enough garrigue goodness. — 8 years ago
