Had a bottle at Whispering Vine in Reno. A nice Cab/Shiraz. A bit of plum, grape, and stewed fruit on the nose with some pepper on the bud. Nice tannins with a bit of sediment. Overall a nice wine that wine well with our South Creek Pizza Shuffle Truffle pizza. — 3 years ago

The wine is made with 100% Famoso grape variety which i had never heard about before my trip to the Casentinesi Forest a couple of weeks ago
The wine is peculiar, it was kept on its lees for 12 months which gave it a bit of body, but had no oak
I enjoyed its mineral character

I happened upon this lovely gem on the shelf at Total Wine in Reno today. It is a spectacular wine in a perfect drinking window. It still has lots of black cherry and currant fruit, but is also showing lovely tertiary flavors and aromas of leather, pipe tobacco, dried flowers, potpourri, and earth. The texture is like pure silk in the mouth with beautiful supporting acidity. These Detert wines age beautifully! — 8 years ago
