Totally classic. Sour cherry, raspberry, leather and gentle rust quality. Piercing acidity and a hushed dusty tannic structure. Will last for decades.

Nicely integrated wine. Oak is present but subtle which I enjoy. Plenty of tart red fruit, leather and dry red flowers. Opened up after an hour even more. Absolutely delicious Tempranillo!

Blind. Easy pick for me with American oak prominent throughout. Was at this winery two months ago.

Love this. Strutting an elegant thing and walking it out.

Beautiful color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, earth, peppercorn, smoke, citronella candle, chocolates, mocha, dark coffee and spices.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Oaky on the palate with blackberries, black cherries, cranberries, earth, wood, licorice, vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, mocha, tobacco, pencil lead, vinaigrette, spices and peppercorn.

Long finish with firm tannins and tangy pomegranates.

This 8 year old Rioja Reserva, is getting to its drinking age now, but still very oaky, with lots of vanilla and wood notes. A bit unbalanced, but very enjoyable by itself or with food.

It shows nice complexity, but it is too young. Needs 3 years to come to its own. Better after 60 minutes of airtime, but good right out of the bottle.

What a Wonderful nose, full of vanilla. I kept on smelling it for a while.

Made with mainly Tempranillo grapes, and aged for 12 months in French and American Oak barrels.

14% alcohol by volume.

Excellent combo of intensity and focus. Black cherry, blood, sage, caramelized turbinado sugar, cedar. Impressive.

My last bottle of the 09’. Ripe fruits core but not overbearing. Sophisticated and elegant. Great QPR, even amongst other fairly-priced Rioja.

The nose was open from the get-go with Bordeaux-like aromas of black currant, cedar (French oak instead of American oak commonly used for Rioja?), black pepper, pencil lead, mushroom, and hint of violet. On the palate there are more ripe black fruits than the nose suggested, but leaning more on the fresh side than richness. Layered and complex. Elegant tannins still has firm grip.
In its prime, and will remain there for several years.
