Colour is as black as night with a crimson rim. A little reduction stink on the nose with earthy burnt cinders. On the palate intense red and black fruits of raspberry, mulberry and black plum. A wine from a warm climate in Cotes du Rouissillon. With time more sweet raspberry fruit on the palate. Mainly Syrah with some Grenache and Mourvèdre. Carries its 15.5% ABV with ease. — 9 days ago

A nice example of a fairly obscure varietal. It worked better with my tuna entrée than with Bonnie’s rack of lamb. I think it needs a bit more aging. — a month ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over lunch at Buvette. Deep ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some slight signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of funky-fresh tart cherries, some horse stable, blackberries, pomegranate, river rocks. On the palate the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with some grippy minerals. Lovely with lunch! Drink now through 2032. — 2 months ago
A new fave in the Spanish white wine category! Had a wonderful richness to the flavor but light and zippy acidity. Would definitely purchase again. — 24 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. Although this is Godello from Bierzo, this was meant to be a fun counter example to Sketch which is arguably a bit unique when it comes to Raul Pérez’s typical style. The 2020 “La Claudina” pours a deeper straw color with notes of lemons, grapefruit, Brazil nuts, hazel nuts (yeah, it’s definitely more in the oxidative style) and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and saline with a slightly sherried, creamy texture. Charming stuff and definitely something I would like to track over time. Enjoy now through 2035. — a month ago
Stunning. Delicious. One of my fav wines of the last 1.5 years. Godello aged under flor that competes with white Burgundy/ Sonoma Coast chards that cost double. Sourced from two tiny plots of 80-100 yr old vines. 80% old foudre, 20% amphora under flor, no malo, no stirring. Sunny bouquet, honeycomb, Asian pear, gun flint, crushed stone, brisk, seamless, cool and classy. $55. — 2 months ago
