Brooding and inky as can be on the nose—it channels my cat’s perturbed-at-any-noise ears. But it has earth and red cherries. The palate is bright and brilliant, and the tannins are medium plus but so silky you’d hardly notice them. Except you do. The acid and alcohol are bracing, with more florals coming through, tempering all the brash leather and earth notes with a touch of femininity. You can drink it alone, but it desires food and the nearby purr/bark/whatever-noise-spders-make sound of your pet. — 3 months ago

Party wine. Excellent. Seriously I’d take this to any party both to slurp and share. It’s good. It’s...party wine. Complex not especially but tasted along side some other grocery store level wines this levels the fuck up. Also fuck yeah black cats. I apologize being a cat person and in particular a black cat person I’m maybe predisposed to this but if you want a wine under ten dollars that doesn’t reek of bullshit this is it. It’s very nice and simple and blackberries but not...obnoxious wanna call out other grocery store cabs but won’t. I like this gato. Simple but friendly purr. Oh Dutcher you got me. I tend to be a not-into-Cali-chard girl but Dutcher shows up. Any variety any time. Everything is subtle except the nose which screams “I am Chardonnay! But I won’t roar I’ll purr” then you sip and think hell this is all the California Chardonnay Things but in balanced happy harmony: the vanilla, the butter, the oh so delicate oak...Dutcher never disappoints. A deep riff of acid slinks through this and balances all. Get in. — 6 years ago
