2016 vintage. Promesse de Fayat is the second wine of Pomerol Château Fayat, owned by Clément Fayat (also La Dominique in Saint-Emilion, and Clément Pichon and Aney in Haut-Médoc). Château Fayat is a relatively recent name (2009) , as it is a fusion of 3 Pomerol estates (Prieurs de la Commanderie, La Commanderie and Vieux Mazeyres), resulting in a big (for Pomerol standards) 16 hectares estate. A solid, medium-bodied Pomerol. A little shy at first, but opening up nicely after 30 minutes. Black juicy cherries and dark chocolate. One of the favorites of the tasting. This 100% Grenache CDP (if my memories are good) that pinots surprisingly on red fruit notes, and olfactory referents that would lead us to Burgundy or some old Beaujolais crus (Brouilly 2006 by F. Aublanc): Potpourri, dried flowers etc. Acidity is full of promises for evolution and aging.

Un des coups de cœur de la dégustation. Ce CDP 100% (si mes souvenirs sont bons) qui pinote de manière surprenante sur des notes fruits rouges, et des référents olfactifs qui nous mènerait plus du côté de la Bourgogne voir certains vieux crus du Beaujolais (Brouilly 2006 de F. Aublanc): Pot-Pourri, fleurs séchées etc. L’acidité est pleine de promesse pour l’évolution et la garde. — 2 years ago

Note : This 90 has gone through the years with great promise, giving those who will share this tasting a memorable memory. With a copper color, a nose of tobacco, flowers with a peppery touch, the appetizer is superb. Beautiful aromas, a ripe compote flavor, a lingering length. A delightful nectar for everyone. But beware of its conservation in the cellar, I already had very bad surprises unfortunately.

Ce 90 a traversé les années avec une grande promesse, donner à ceux qui vont partager cette dégustation un souvenir mémorable. Avec une robe cuivrée, un nez de tabac, de fleurs avec une touche poivrée, la mise en bouche est superbe. De beaux arômes, une saveur de compote à maturité, une longueur persistante. Un délicieux nectars ravissant pour tous. Mais attention à sa conservation en cave, j’ai déjà eu de très mauvaises surprises malheureusement.

A solid Côte-du-Rhône, in terms of quality/price/pleasure ratio. Dark garnet-violin dress. Complete nose, intense black fruits, menthol, garrigue, mineral notes promising a beautiful relief. In the mouth it is very balanced, supple, fruity, peppery (syrah), licorice and spicy nuances with fruit and minerality. Superb for its price!

Un Côte du Rhône des plus solide, pour ce qui est du rapport qualité/prix/plaisir. Robe grenat-violine sombre. Nez complet, fruits noirs intense, menthol, garrigue, notes minérales promesse d’un beau relief. En bouche c’est très équilibré, souple, fruité, poivré (syrah), réglisse et nuances épicées avec du fruit et de la minéralité. Superbe pour son prix ! — 2 years ago
