Finally had a chance to try this out! Nice poolside wine. Nose of peach and minerals and dried wildflowers. Entry is a bit acidic, limestone and crushed rock base with honeysuckle and melon with peach, tropical notes, and a hint of lime. Gritty finish. Lime aftertaste. Blind tasted. Nose is very tight; star fruit, green apple, hints of poolside vapors. First sip is intense, acidic and tight as well, a few chews revealing structure and contained complexity. A nice buttery and ripe fruit retro really shows the quality of the wine, in conclusion. Very hard to describe - a thinker - that's for sure. Still very young - a sleeper - that's no doubt, pleasure was partly intellectual. I'd recommend to carafe for half a day or to taste the bottle over a few days. Taste around 14 degrees. This white is crisp and has an excellent balance of fruitiness and acidity and a smooth fluid body. The red of this winery has brett and is watered down and is not recommendable. Since today is International Sauvignon Blanc day, I decided to do a little experimenting of some similar TX SBs, courtesy of @Ron Yates . Ron is the president of Spicewood Vineyards and also has his own winery, Ron Yates.

To me, this is classic poolside/dead heat of summer white wine. Easy to sip on. Very lean and almost steely on the nose. Nice acidity throughout. White flowers, lime zest, and a lemon-tart finish. The finish is where this wine shines. — 8 years ago

This was an unusual but surprising wine. The best description I can give it is very fresh. Almost like barely ripe tomatoes crushed with the leaves. It really is the perfect summer wine for red wine drinkers who find rose generally to sweet or lacking depth. This wine is complex and interesting but also light and best served slightly chilled. Unique and intense, this stuff makes Rose interesting. Not your typical on trend bottle, it’s a dark rich pink with spicy tones and nice acid.
