Domaine Bertrand, Beaujolais blanc 2020.
This bottle was bought 8 days ago in the winery in Charentay, where we enjoyed an outstanding tasting with Maryse and Jean Pierre Bertrand who told us everything about their different crus and cuvées and how they are transitioning to an organic product (the white is certified organic already, their other red crus will be in 2022 and 2023). I strongly recommend paying them a visit when in the area, they are great hosts and they make good solid wines.
This one is no exception and I would have placed it 30km north blind around Mâcon. Superb and delicate nose with white flowers, lemon and a tiny touch of yellow fruits (that reminded me of Mâcon), super strong acid backbone with a power drive, nice lemony touches all along, a good mid palate with width that powers up a long fruity, zesty finish. This is very good stuff! — 3 years ago
Pure Chinon. Musty. Olive. Pretty acidity. Cut grass. Brings us back to Spring in the Loire! — 8 years ago
Slightly underripe strawberry, white mushrooms and herbs. Mousse is abundant but not so fine or persistent. Not much from the lees — 3 years ago

Fruity and fresh but with that cabernet franc velvety thing.
Will go well with pork chops — 7 years ago

This is one of the wines we brought back in our trunk from our visit to the domain that traveled 2000 km.
Very fun cherry nose, with a note of kirsch, the hay thing and a bit of a flowery thing too (violet?). The palate is well made and textbook good Beaujolais. Strong acid backbone, nice cherry note all along, lively mouthfeel that turns into a nice layer of pointy tannins. The finish is fruit forward and lasts for a bit. Very good effort. Pay a visit to Maryse, Jean Pierre and Julien in Charentay if you can. — 3 years ago
