Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1970

Almost perfect. Actually for the vintage it deserves a perfect 10. Beautiful fruit with bright underlying acidity that made you want to keep coming back again and again to your glass. — 9 years ago

Matt, can you text me a pic of the bottle of this we had at PB or tag me in your entry here? My pic didn't take. Thanks!

Nuits St. Georges Pinot Noir 2013

D9. Enjoyed at Monsieur Paul at the French showcase of Epcot. Food was fantastic and this wine hit it out of the park. Called the night before and paid for the bottle using a little Disney magic. It was open for a few hours last night, recorked, and opened upon arrival. Whoa Daddy. Love Nuits St Georges when it's firing on all cylinders. The nose is dirty raspberry, black cherry, black tea, mint, peppery, and you could almost envision the soil that gave life to these grapes. The entry has all of these things, with the middle gaining some dates and tobacco. Hint of herb. Finishes with a lot of youthful tannin despite being extremely expressive for what this one is. I don't think this bottle was incredibly expensive, but it really killed tonight. Drink or hold for a decade. — 5 years ago

Richebourg Pinot Noir 1971

Wow... ambrosial. Lovely Strawberries, roses, and sower cherries on the nose; but it’s on the palate that this wine excels. Endless, complete, and perfect - a complex peacocks tail spreads out through your mouth and holds on, weightless, for what seems like forever. — 6 years ago
