I tried the 2009 Pearce Maxwell's Cabernet tonight. This Cabernet blend has a nice bouquet of red fruits, tobacco leaf and earth. It is a deep dark velvety pleasure to drink. There are hints or BlackBerry, Oak and a touch of Cassas that hangs around like a warm memory. The tannins show themselves nicely in a lovely lingering finish. We drank this as a stand alone drink, but it would lovely with food. #coombsville #napa #ajpearce — 11 years ago
First time cracking open this 3XP from Paul Pender, Nicholas Pearce and Will Predhomme. Pairing it with Sweet Pea and Asparagus Risotto for dinner. — 5 years ago

Lovely, earthy essence - not floral but dry & complex — 6 years ago
Another yummy one...complex and spicy enough to hold its own against some of my favorites, like AJ Pearce, when I don’t have the $$$ for AJ Pearce. — 8 years ago

I love a bottle of cab I can open and right away tastes good. Another amazing cab from AJ Pearce. Full bodied with nice structure. Slight tannins to round out. — 6 years ago
Super aromatic. Loads of citrus, lemongrass, grapefruit, yet creamy texture. Stirred lees added some nice balance to smooth over tartness. — 7 years ago
My favorite heavier red wine is AJ Pearce Cabernet...which is made by a friend of ours and, even with the friend-discount, can be pricey. But this Conundrum is my new, more affordable—though still fancier than others I drink—second favorite! Heavier...spicier...and oakier than most...so much going on in such a good way. Are those hints of vanilla at the end? Mmmm!
Sipping this with salted almonds and my children’s Pepperidge Farm goldfish with a log on the fire and watching Whose Line Is It Anyway...and couldn’t be happier. P.S. Had their white wine MANY years ago and LOVED it! Will have to get more this summer! — 8 years ago
A touch buttery but dry not sweet — 11 years ago
Opened up beautifully. So happy I brought it with. — 11 years ago

Coombsville Napa Syrah. Small 3 barrel production. Interesting that I get coconut both on the nose and in the after taste so I thought there had to be some American oak in there but was assured by the wine maker it was 100% French. Half new.
Nice mouthfeel - a balance of silk and acids. 5 years old and would love to re-visit at 10. — 3 months ago
