This wine has me trippin. Someone on here mentioned motor oil on pavement—check! And pencil lead. And bitter herbs. And some dried fruit. And lavender. And the the taste of someone starting a V8 engine. And it’s chewy. And dry. And it hits you big but finishes long and elegant but rough around the edges (like I dunno, a Vivienne Westwood or Rick Owens leather jacket). And most importantly, it all weirdly works beautifully. Deep granite - violet edges.
Blackberry, dark fruits, vanilla, supple wood on the nose.
Blackberries, black raspberry, mid palate has a burst of orange rind. Moderate/light acidity with polished tannins. Delightful wine for the money. Decant & enjoy over the next several years. Edit- Personally would decant for 90 + minutes. — 4 years ago
