Spring Ephemeral Columbia Valley Pinot Noir 2018

Big storm and power just went out at 3 in the afternoon. Breaks my heart to put work aside and open this!
Almost have it 93. The nose is great. Violets, strawberry, and burnt orange peel. Palate is fun too. Slightly reductive, cherry, strawberry, salinity, and minerality.
I purchased this at North Loop Wine / Spirits in Minneapolis. Check out this shop if you haven’t/can. Great selection! Very helpful staff as well. I asked for the best Pinot under $60 and he passed quite a few easy names to give me this. So glad he did! They have a great selection of high end stuff, maybe best in MN? Thoughts Vikings fans?

I suppose Packers fans would like it too @Sharon B . 😆. Yea, big storms here. My neighbor said he has 7” in the rain gage. Hard to believe. Coming your way!

Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 2014

One of my favorites, this bottle kept up to my expectations of a food friendly crisp PG. Will buy again. North Loop, 2/17 $16.50 — 8 years ago

Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

On Wednesday nights “The Local” in Minneapolis north loop sells full bottles at cost. Great value. This 2015 was a great less full bodied Cab with nice hint of cherry. — 5 years ago

Domaine Roblin

L'Enclos De Maimbray Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Unripe honey dew on the nose. Floral honey. Mouthwatering. A little puckery on the back of the tongue. A little lemon. We liked the north loop liquors slightly better. 15 on last bottle. — 7 years ago

Weekly Wednesday Wine Committee lunch...always such a treat to attend. This week, Dan hosted. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All blind as usual.

These Carneros chards from Aubert always throw me for a loop. I pegged this as a west coast Chardonnay, but thought it was a Kistler. Very sharp mineral notes and acid...very different than Aubert’s other chards. I’ve not had the Hudson which is similar. This started off sweeter than expected and really transformed in the glass to show more floral/honeyed cashews that led me to west coast Chardonnay.
