@nonna Sylvia's. Amazing balance and not too dry — 2 years ago
Reddish-brown. Sweet cherries, eucalyptus, prunes, antique woood furniture in the nose. Silky tannins. Cherry forward, strawberries, balsamic. Lots of oak on the finish. Lingering. It's like an old nonna - you know she's survived the test time yet manages to stay oh-so sweet and captivating. — 3 years ago
Cuvée/Grand Cru from this family winery. 2016 was a great vintage for Barolo, back when you still had snow on the ground in early October. For the past three years the lack of snow/cold weather has really made harvesting extremely challenging in this region, to say the least. This specific bottle however shows a spectacular version of Barolo with rose petals, cherry, licorice, a bit of old leather, a classically delicate style of Barolo for sure. Showing signs of integration with softer tannins and a prolonged finish. Cheers. — 7 months ago
1st release of Montes Alpha was in 1988 when Montes became one of the first premium wineries in Chile. Today Aurelio Montes continues leading the winemaking effort. A blend of 90% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon & 3% Viognier. Very dark red with aromas of berry fruit and cedar spice notes. On the palate blueberry and cherry flavors with cacao, leather and vanilla oak. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with toasty spice. Nice value. Tasted twice. — 3 years ago
Dry for a Pinot - Nonna doesn’t like but Lisa does — a year ago
Marenco ‘Pineto’ Brachetto D’Acqui DOCG 2015: Light. Bright. Sweet. Delicious fruity flavors: Raspberry. Strawberry jam. Cherry soda. Paired perfectly with homemade crescentina fritta (grazie nonna!), soft cheeses, salumi & nutella! Happy Holidays to all! Cheers🍷🎄 — 2 years ago
