Aged very well! Very fine burgundian, gruner-influenced nose (ripe papaya, melon, pineapple with some apple and quince, hints of white pepper and perroleum). More Riesling-dominant on the palate with stonefruit and again petroleum. Medium plus bodied with only 12,5% abv, long minerality driven afterhall. — 12 hours ago
Rich, nutty, ripe peach! Really enjoyed this gruner throughout our meal. Paired especially well with the snow crab, dashi butter pasta we ate! — 5 days ago
It was Weston’s hosting today for the Wednesday Wine Committee and probably the most informative lunch to date. Though everything was tasted “blind” as usual, we were all given a list of grapes to choose from for the whites and the reds, since they were all meant to be very similar.
Given that the third white seemed to be the easiest to choose (Albariño), I kept going back and forth between this and the first white. In the end, his had a more full body feel to it along with some sulfur/petrol notes. Others said white pepper. ✔️ — 13 days ago
It is Friday and I have unscrewed an easy drinker to start the weekend off right again from Austria. The 2016 Weingut Stadt Krems Kremstal Grüner Veltliner 12.5% Alc. By Vol. Light green to clear in color.
On the nose it is beautifully perfumed with lemon, lime, white flowers, white pepper, spice and definite mineral tones.
On the palate the nose is confirmed with loads of lemon, lime peel, white pepper, spice and minerality.
This wine is light bodied with mouthwatering high acidity but not ripping that leads to a clean long finish. All in all a nice clean easy drinking wine. Have a great weekend and please stay safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 24 days ago
