Velvet Glove McLaren Vale Shiraz 2006

This was a lucky acquisition in 2008. Two states, five cities and seven homes later, survived. I'm so happy and relieved that it kept as well as it did! A truly amazing wine that lives up to its reputation! Sublime Velvet. — 7 months ago

Summer Shandy

Not only is this a weekend to remember those who have lost their lives for us, but it’s a sad weekend for me. I lost a longtime friend to cancer yesterday. We went to high school together in Iceland and we both served in the Navy. Normally this would be our weekend to get together and hang out at the pool, drinking beer and listening to 80’s music. RIP Faye I’ll miss you my friend — 2 years ago

Pappy Van Winkle Malt Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 10 Year 107 Proof

Somewhat lives up to the hype, but one day I'll try the others. Very smooth, bursting with oakey vanilla, burnt caramel, and honey. — 3 years ago

Southold Farm + Cellar

Time of Our Lives Lagrein 2016

Showed very well at 8 years old. Always fun to taste the older Southold wines from their time back on Long Island. — 9 months ago

Reserve Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

We did a ‘14, ‘15, ‘16, ‘17 vertical tasting - highly recommend this as you get to watch the wines open up over time.

‘14 was by far and away the best, but still worth sitting on. Then, in order we liked ‘16, 17, and ‘15. The 2015 seems like it’s not going to make it as far as the others, a bit flabbier. ‘16 and ‘17 have long lives ahead of them - excited for that!

All were drinking pretty though and have varying levels of similar profiles: vanilla, cocoa, espresso, cedar, and earth tones. Hard to say no to any of them.
