Nose has brown butter sauteed pineapple, fresh coconut meat, (damp) crushed granite, faint sea spray and baked pear.
Palate has under-ripe pineapple, lime peel, sugared lemon slice, cold caramel yellow apple, phenolic notes which runout though a medium finish.
Needs YEARS, revisit 2026+.
I was intrigued by the nose but underwhelmed by the palate tonight. — 7 days ago
Very light tannins, very fruitful, smooth finish. Palate strong notes of red cherries as well as the on nose. Highly recommend to others. Enjoyed with BBQ pork ribs. — 5 days ago
Purchased because I was promised some botrytis influence and dried honey notes in any form always make me very happy. Monte Grande could easily go unnoticed but if you stop for a minute, you'll find a basket of textures and aromas.
More amber imagery than the color suggests. Just a glint of copper or rose gold. Notes of honey and hazelnut and fudgey dates, with baked apple and pear and sour pineapple and starfruit. Supremely acidic and balanced cream makes this comfortable.
Serve this to me blind and I'd call it Chenin. — 20 days ago

Like it hasn’t aged a day. Still classically Zin in all ways, smoky earthy and fruity with some hints of raisin. Develops nicely over 2 hrs. — 16 days ago
Dark rubi robe, nose of spices, tobacco and black fruits with hints of dark cherries. In the mouth its rich but not exaggerated, medium bodied, elegant tanins, well balanced with great freshness. Ends on a sappy and spicy note and one wants more. Really excellent wine that deserves the reputation. Recommended ! — 18 days ago
85% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Bright and shiny ruby red with a nose of cherries, sage, herbs and red tea.
Medium bodied with berries/cherries, leather, violets and a touch of earthiness.
The acidity is crisp and cleansing with soft tannins that are nicely balanced.
This wine is a great Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday drinker and don’t break the bank. — 12 days ago
