Last bottle, still wonderful, no new notes:
A copper, pink color in the glass, visually stunning.
Nose has soiled cherry, wet chestnuts, new leather and a touch of cold tangerine peel.
Palate has wet leather, yellow cherry, sour cherry, light chestnut barrel notes and quick squeeze of tangelo.
Best enjoyed as it warms out of the ice bath (+55°F) — 5 days ago
Structured with rich apple and pineapple fruit with flinty minerality. — 12 days ago
Ripe Zinfandel fruit and noticeable red earth depth. At 12 years it has mellowed into a round and palate filling wine with more years of life. You never get a light weight Zinfandel from Monte Rosso. Great match with pasta, sausage, pesto and grated cheese. 🍷👍 — 5 days ago
Amazing and complex nose with red fruits and oaked wood. Long bouquet, after decanting, an explosion of red and cinnamon. Great company for a 4 cheese gnoquis. — 5 days ago
A blend of 68% Cab Sauv, 20% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 2% Cab Franc, dark Ruby with aromas of ripe dark red fruits, cigar-box spice, floral and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with notes of licorice, pepper, vanilla and toasty spice. Fine tannins, integrating well with oak, good overall balance, long finish ending with fruit, floral and sweet oak. Great now, still has long aging potential left! — 20 days ago
