Making mimi cry!! Bwahahaha!! — 9 years ago
Incredible wine. Wow. Talk about Burgundian mimicry. This screams Chassagne 1er cru in that there is an intense florality and unreal minerals.. Wow the complexity is off the charts. Genius!! Tangerine, lemon, sweet lime, green apple, blood orange and so much more. Just magic. 9.7 nose. Intense concentration and purity and my goodness the finesse is just unreal. Delicate like only the best wines can be with enormous material but so nimble. Sapid and dense.but so focused and nimble. Balance. Wow wow wow. I am blown away. This has an indescribable quality. That X factor. A wine of such beauty and revelation words fail me. I love the mineral sweetness of this wine as it opens and the classic Laible florals are off the chain. — 2 years ago
Nose: pear, toast, mild cheese. Taste: nuts, toast, dry lemon, lovely smooth champagne-y texture and bubbles. Tiny dash of red fruit (pomegranate?). Nice acidity. Not worth the price premium by a long shot - but tasty. And a suitable excuse for poor Sean Connery mimicry. — 4 years ago
This is a stunning bottle. What a nose. Grassy, citrus, green apple, huge and I mean huge minerality. Smoke, flint and it’s piercing my nostrils. Tiny bit of malo/butter/oak but that’s 10% of the nose. Wow that palate is awash with acids and minerals up the wazoo. With huge red grapefruit and scintillating energy. It’s got huge acid but at the same it is silky and the structure on the finish is brilliant. So long and salty. Wonderful delineation. Super long finish. The salinity on the finish is remarkable. This was a 9.4 but the finish and balance make it a 9.5. Nose is so integrated now after some air. White Burgundy mimicry going on here. Got that Burgundian stank to it. Like elite Chassagne 1er Cru. As this airs it gets an intense chewy concentration and density. It keeps gaining complexity and density. 9.5 to 9.6. — 3 years ago

Deep and ripe nose that is totally giving me Corton Charlemagne vibes. Ripe apple, melon, cantaloupe and pear. Gorgeous in its purity. Man this is like white burgundy mimicry. Gorgeous spicey notes and complex smokey tones and amazing mineral notes. Such an enveloping and evocative nose. Palate is so awesome. Rich and textured and so deep and this has those German iodine and hazelnut notes that make you think your in Corton Charlemagne. Ripe and unctuous and so forward and unreal marzipan notes on the mid and finish. Wow does this really hammer you on the finish and not let up. Remarkable elegance and large scaled but nimble. As this airs it gains remarkable aromatic complexity with pulverized stones and barely ripe tropical fruits. So complex. Rich yet tense is the biography of this wine. One of the best 18’s I’ve had from Germany. — 2 years ago
