Smith Madrone

Spring Mountain District Riesling 2017

Helping a chef with a Smith Madrone tasting. This is a very nice Riesling that exhibits apples, peach and some bartlett pear. Just a bit of acidity and you will get a fair hint of oil on the nose, not in a bad way. We gave it a good 1 hr decant and didn't serve it too chilled. Light acidity and a full mouthfeel. 7 year bottle aged and drinking nicely. — 9 days ago

Wife wondered why we don’t always drink this. Because my brother-in-law does not come over every day ;) — 2 months ago

Smith Madrone

Spring Mountain District Chardonnay 2019

Golden in color, hints of green apple, lemon zest, orange peel and a nice acidity. Full bodied but not overly oaked. The finish lingers. Drinking nicely. — 9 days ago

L'Apres-Midi Knights Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Solid SB. More round with the oak influence that took away the brightness I would look for in a SB. I guess I’m not really into BDX white blends. — 2 months ago
